Alvior Medical, like many practises, was attempting to stay up with the shifting payment situation. Despite their best efforts, Alvior Medical’s previous practise management (PM) and electronic health records (EHR) systems required too many workarounds, forcing them to fail the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) requirement for Medicare payment.

Alvior Medical needed a simple means to acquire insight into the performance of the practise. Moving patients through the treatment process, documenting, invoicing, and even checking on the progress of billing in each individual record took up hours every day. Reports from the third-party biller arrived once a month, with ‘bad debt’ collections increasing that simply needed to be contested.

A practise administration system is meant to make front-desk and billing responsibilities easier, but Alvior Medical found the reverse to be true. In response to the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) and the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Alvior Medical turned to MedCloud for individualised guidance and a robust integrated MIPS dashboard.
